Irish Dance: Welcome to Southern Academy

We regret that our first Irish dance teacher Sarah Armstrong has decided to leave Italia Performing Arts. She will not be returning to teach after her maternity leave. Darcy Pierce, who has been covering for Sarah’s leave, will also be leaving us, after teaching one final Intermediate class on March 31st. We thank Sarah and Darcy for their work with our students.

SAID logoWe are excited to announce that Italia Performing Arts has made an arrangement with Southern Academy of Irish Dance – Virginia to offer continuing Irish dance classes at the Italia Performing Arts Winchester studio, starting in April. These classes will be taught by Denise Fumagali TCRG, co-director of Southern Academy and a certified teacher of Irish dance with long experience.

Denise FumagaliStudents for these classes need to sign up directly with Southern Academy of Irish Dance. This is required so that Southern Academy can present these students at Irish dance competitions. Special discounts will be offered for students taking classes with both Italia Performing Arts and Southern Academy.

Italia Performing Arts students transferring to Southern Academy will have the opportunity to perform in an Irish dance part of the Italia Performing Arts Summer Show 2016 “Snow White”.

Our current Irish dance students and any new students are invited to sign up for Southern Academy of Irish Dance classes in Winchester through this link. Please also view and like Southern Academy’s Facebook page. See also our Irish dance page.
