Kimberly Allen joined the Italia Performing Arts team in May 2021. She brings to us years of experience in dance, specializing in Tap, and in Musical Theatre. She will be teaching Acro, Tap and Musical Theatre at Italia Performing Arts.
Kimberly started tap dancing at 4 years old, appearing on a children’s tv show in Virginia Beach, and performing on school stages as a Wee Rocket.
She continued her study of dance in tap, Cecchetti method of classical ballet, and jazz. At 18 she began her concentration in jazz and tap, receiving her teaching license. She received a Bachelor of Art in Drama and Communication from the University of New Orleans, and is a member of the Piano Teachers Guild and Louisiana Dance Masters. Many years of extensive training and certifications in Musical Theatre followed, and she wrote and produced over 35 shows on theatrical stages and for community in Louisiana. She is also an Acrobatic Arts certified teacher.
She is the former Owner and Director of Dance as One Performing Arts, and children’s summer theatre director of Little Theatre in Monroe, Louisiana. Her dance degrees include classical and lyrical ballet, liturgical dance, tap, and jazz with an emphasis on the theatrical aspect. She continues her training, updating yearly with Access Broadway, Steps on Broadway, and others.
