WINCHESTER, VA, August 22, 2012: Italia Performing Arts, LLC is opening a new Italian themed dance studio.
The Grand Opening Week starts with ribbon cutting on Friday August 24th at 2.00 pm. The studio will be open for free trial classes and for registration on Saturday August 25th and Monday to Friday August 27th to 31st, 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Regular classes start on Tuesday September 4th. Classes are offered for children from age 3 upwards in ballet using the Italian Cecchetti method, also in jazz, tap, hip-hop and modern dance. For adults and teens the studio offers Zumba® classes, with ballroom dance and flamenco coming soon.
The studio owner, Lorenza Manara Marchi, comes from Florence, Italy, and has recently moved to Virginia. “Come and share my passion for Romantic Ballet,” she says. “I am convinced that dance and other performing arts flourish best in the right environment. So I have designed my studio in the best European style, blending the elegance of the Romantic era with modern elements. We intend to see the people of Winchester dancing the elegance of Italy.”
The main studio area features a full length mural, painted by professional artists, based on the ballerina pictures of the impressionist painter Degas. The reception area is enhanced by a bronze copy of Degas’s famous statue of a 14-year-old ballet dancer.
The studio is located next to the Jos. A. Bank store at Creekside Station, the premiere shopping destination in Valley Avenue, Winchester.
Italia Performing Arts, LLC was opened in 2012 by Lorenza Manara Marchi, with the support of her husband Peter Kirk. It is a member of the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber. Lorenza trained in Italy and England as a teacher of classical ballet. She holds the Diploma in Dance Instruction and the Diploma in Dance Education in the Cecchetti method of ballet from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.
