Haymarket Dance Classes 2025-26
Children’s ballet. Pre-professional teen study. Choose from an array of classes and dance styles for all ages and abilities at our new Haymarket dance studio.
Classes start on Monday August 18th and continue until (provisionally) Thursday June 11th. We are closed for holidays (provisionally) September 1st (Labor Day), October 31st (Halloween), November 26th – 29th (Thanksgiving), December 24th – January 1st (Christmas and New Year), March 30th – April 4th (Spring break), May 25th (Memorial Day). We do not close for other public holidays. Our summer 2026 timetable and activities will be announced later.

Our immersive study abroad program is back! Italia Performing Arts is pleased to offer students ages 10+ and their families an immersive study abroad experience in Florence, Miss Lorenza’s beautiful and historic home city, and Venice, Italy.

The ages listed for each class are given only as a general guide. We do not move students up on their birthdays. Students will be placed in classes according to their age, ability level, and experience, and all classes are subject to rearrangement based on numbers registered and teacher availability.
Student ages listed for Italia’s dance classes indicate the student’s age as of the start of the school year in September. The only exception is for Pre-Primary 1 Ballet and Acro Darlings; for those classes only, we accept new students who will be turning 3 during the year.
For boys and girls ages 3 to 10, we offer Pre-Primary Ballet, Primary Ballet, and Ballet Basics classes. These classes are intended for beginners as well as those with some dance experience.
For students ages 10+, we offer two streams of ballet classes:
- Ballet Basics is for students who are taking ballet once a week. All beginners ages 9+, including teens, are initially accepted only for Ballet Basics.
- Our Ballet Pro Stream is for serious students who want to move on to performance, competition, or a professional dance career. Pro Stream training includes intensive focus on the Cecchetti Method of classical ballet. Students may only pursue this stream if recommended by Italia Performing Arts staff.
